UPDF passes out 271 Military Police Officers

271 Military Police personnel who completed their training at the Masindi Training School were officially passed out by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF). During the pass-out ceremony, Maj Gen Francis Takirwa, the deputy commander of the UPDF Land Forces, emphasized the importance of having their country at heart to ensure the continuity of peace and stability, not only within the nation but also beyond its borders.

Addressing the graduating officers, Maj Gen Takirwa acknowledged the competence of the training personnel and urged the graduates to utilize the acquired skills and knowledge to safeguard and cherish their country. He emphasized the significance of always keeping their country’s interests at the forefront of their duties.

Furthermore, Maj Gen Takirwa highlighted the importance of continuous training to attain proficiency when dealing with various global threats, such as terrorism and cyber insecurity.

During the same ceremony, Brig Gen William Bainomugisha, the Commandant of Military Police, praised the UPDF leadership for their dedication to professionalism by prioritizing training and improving troop welfare, among other initiatives.

Brig Gen Bainomugisha encouraged the new trainees to lead by example and show utmost respect to the ‘Red tops,’ indicating the significance of discipline and integrity in the Pro – People Force, UPDF.

In conclusion, the commandant of the school congratulated the graduates and stressed the importance of upholding discipline and integrity as core values of the UPDF, a Pro – People Force. The training provided the graduates with a diverse set of skills, including VVIP protection, skill at arms, physical combat drills, self-defense, political education, radio communication, and financial literacy, among others.
