It has been confirmed that Sadiq Ssekyembe, the former left-back of Express FC, has made a significant move, departing the country to join Somalia’s renowned Horseed FC.

The potential deal has garnered considerable attention, as it marks Ssekyembe’s decision to turn down the interest shown by newly promoted UPL side Mbarara City. This move would have reunited the player with his former coach, Wasswa Bbosa, had he chosen the alternative path.

Last season, Ssekyembe showcased his skills at Gaddafi FC, but now, he has become part of a growing number of players who are bidding farewell to the Jinja-based side.

To provide some background on Ssekyembe’s football journey, he previously featured for Katwe United from 2018 to 2019 before making the switch to Express FC. While donning the Express FC jersey, he achieved remarkable success by securing both the Uganda Premier League and the CECAFA Kagame Cup in Tanzania.

Notably, Ssekyembe has also explored the world of Futsal, having had a stint in the Futsal League with KSPG.

On the other side of the deal, Horseed FC boasts an impressive record, being six-time champions of the Somalia League. Their home ground is the iconic Banadir Stadium, situated in Mogadishu.

As the deal progresses, football enthusiasts and fans will be closely watching how Ssekyembe’s skills and experience will contribute to the success of Horseed FC in their upcoming endeavors.
