The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Kisoro District, Hajji Badru Mayanja, has issued stern warnings to the parish chiefs of Gisozi and Bubuye parishes, Sunday Steven and Habyarimana John, respectively. CAO Hajji Badru Mayanja accuses them of dereliction of duty, leading to the denial of vital services, including access to the Parish Development Model (PDM) funds for the residents.

Furthermore, similar challenges have been reported in Karambi parish in Nyarubuye and Chahafi parish in Chahafi town council. The parish chiefs for these areas are currently unable to carry out their responsibilities due to illness, as reported to the CAO.

In response to the situation, CAO Mayanja has taken action by appointing individuals to assist in the affected parishes, ensuring that residents can still apply for the much-needed PDM funds.

While addressing the concerned residents of Gisozi and Bubuye, Mayanja reassured them that they will eventually receive the benefits from the PDM funds once the issues are adequately resolved.

Over the weekend, the Kisoro District Resident District Commissioner, Hajji Shafiq Sekandi, voiced his criticism against the parish chiefs for causing undue delays in accessing PDM funds, leading to frustration among the local population.
