An investigation is underway in Mitooma District following a tragic accident that claimed the life of an 8-year-old child. The police authorities, led by Martial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for the Greater Bushenyi police, have confirmed the incident. The young victim has been identified as Josephat Agumenaitwe, residing in Kihumuro Karooza village, Mitooma sub-county, Mitooma district.
The unfortunate event occurred in Kihumuro Karooza village when a Mitsubishi Canter, with registration number UAQ 652E and painted blue, was in the process of reversing. Tragically, the driver accidentally struck the child, causing severe injuries.
The injured child was immediately taken to Kampala International Teaching Hospital in Ishaka for medical treatment. Despite the efforts to save his life, Josephat Agumenaitwe succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the hospital. The authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
