RDC Walunsimbi: “Emyooga money ain’t free, but it’s a revolving fund.”

The state house monitoring and coordination Emyooga team is in Kasese district to assess the progress and performance of the benefiting groups.

Welcoming the team, Lt. Joe Walunsimbi, the Kasese Resident District Commissioner reminded the beneficiaries that the Emyooga money wasn’t free but a revolving fund, threatening to lawfully deal with any defaulter under project.

Hon. Israel Masereka, the Chairperson for Kasese Municipal leaders’ Sacco whose group is demanded 50 million shillings has handed a list of defaulters to police to help in the recovery process under what he called a coincidence of his actions and the visit of the State house Monitoring team.

Ms Josephine Muhindo, a 56 year old woman who were washing from the river before floods narrated to this radio that they almost ran out of words as they guided endlessly the two victims whose hopes of survival had faded.

The Kitoro cell chairperson in Kasese Municipality, Mr. Isaya Thembo who joined Police in rescue mission, warned the local community members against forcing themselves into crossing the un predicated Nyamwamba river he said requires intensified desilting plans.

Mr. Dason Kikora, the senior marketing officer and spokesperson for Bugema University in Kasese like many locals during the rescue mission at the river, called for touchable plans that would see River Nyamwamba tamed.
