Rubanda District | The Black Examiner – State Minister of Finance, General Duties, Henry Ariganyira Musasizi, has officially initiated the construction of Kibuzigye Seed Secondary School. This auspicious occasion marks the establishment of the third educational institution within Rubanda District in a span of four years.

Geses (U) Ltd has been entrusted with the construction project, which has been allocated a budget of Shs. 2.42 Billion. The comprehensive development plan encompasses the erection of Two Classroom Blocks, an ICT Block, a Science Block, Two Self-Contained Twin Staff Buildings, Two Water Tanks, and Two V.I.P Latrines.

The inauguration ceremony for Kibuzigye Seed Secondary School took place at the school premises in Rwarugambwa Cell, Kibuzigye Ward, Hamuhambo Town Council on Friday. Minister Musasizi, also the Rubanda East MP and NRM Chairperson for the district, graced the event as the Chief Guest. He disclosed that his efforts to secure government backing for the school date back to his entrance into parliament in 2011, driven by the community’s appeals since 2010.

Minister Musasizi stated, “This achievement is the realization of a long-held aspiration. The people of Kibuzigye implored me to advocate for government support for the school during my initial parliamentary campaign in 2010.”

The establishment of Kibuzigye Seed Secondary School holds significant importance for Rubanda District’s educational landscape. It follows the completion and inauguration of Nyamweru School last year and the ongoing construction of Ruhiija Seed Secondary School. This initiative aligns with the government’s strategic goal to establish a secondary school in each sub-county.

Minister Musasizi emphasized that the creation of the Government-aided school in Hamuhambo Town Council is intrinsically linked to subsequent advancements, including improved access to electricity, water supply, and well-maintained roads within the locality.

Rubanda District Education Officer (D.E.O) Francis Serununi highlighted the practical benefits of government intervention. With the transition into government administration, Kibuzigye Seed School will have a faculty of 32 staff members, including 28 salaried teachers. The school will also receive additional resources such as capitation grants and a well-equipped library.

Acknowledging the support received for land allocation for the seed school’s construction, Rubanda District LC.5 Chairman, Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, extended gratitude to Kabale Diocese and Diocese of Kigezi. Kasyaba highlighted the challenges faced in other districts where churches have been hesitant to contribute land for similar projects.

Julius Arinaitwe Byarugaba, Chairperson of the Board of Governors at Kibuzigye Seed Secondary School, took the opportunity to recognize Minister Musasizi’s previous support for the institution. Byarugaba noted the Minister’s instrumental role in personally constructing two classroom blocks, with one being named in his honor.
