Nakasongola District | The Black Examiner – Four people lost their lives in a deadly car crash that was reported by police in the early hours of Monday in the Nakasongola neighborhood.
A white Toyota Hiace with the license plate UAM 930P and a white Tata truck with the license plate UBB 736C were involved in the collision, according to Savannah Police Region spokesperson Sam Twiineamazima in a statement on Monday.
Victoria Nalubwama, Bernard Ntege, Manuel Nyakato, and Emmanuel Isingoma all lost their lives in the accident, which was reported by the territorial traffic police of Katugo town council’s Nakasongola District this morning at around 12:30 am. The driver and one turn boy were also injured.
The police sign post was strategically placed to warn the approaching car about the hazards ahead when the Tata suffered a mechanical issue at around 11:00 p.m., the man continued.
Unfortunately, the Toyota Hiace’s driver, who was traveling in the same general direction as Gulu, was blinded by the full-brightness of a bus coming from Kampala and failed to notice the signpost in front of him.
In the end, the driver crashed into the rear of the broken-down car, instantly killing four individuals.
“The victims/survivors were taken to St Franciscan Health Centre and later were referred to Mulago Hospital,” he continued. “The bodies of deceased were taken to Nakasongola Health Center IV mortuary for postmortem.”
All vehicles were whisked to the Nakasongola police station, according to Twiineamazima, after officers visited and documented the crime scene.
He claimed there were ongoing inquiries.
Sunday crashes claimed the lives of eight people.
Numerous people were hurt over the weekend and eight people died in separate traffic accidents, according to the Police.
On Sunday, a bus accident in Gomba district claimed the lives of three individuals, while a crash Kassanda district claimed the lives of four. Rukungiri district was the scene of the other crash, which took the life of one individual.

According to the Police report, preliminary investigations indicated that irresponsible driving and a broken-down car obstructing traffic were to blame for the accidents.
