Family Members of the Kawempe North Legislator Muhammad Ssegirinya have given parliament One week to provide at least UGX 80 million required for his treatment abroad or else they call for a public fundraising.

Hon Muhammed Ssegirinya was taken abroad in the Netherlands for specialized treatment after his health situation worsened beyond management in Uganda.

While addressing journalists at Kawempe, Alex Luwemba the personal assistant to Hon. Ssegirinya revealed that bills accumulate every day to the extent of giving away some of the legislator’s property to raise the required funds which is also not enough.

Luwemba says it’s on record that Parliament has been giving medical bills to members of Parliament for treatment abroad but it’s surprising to see that it’s keeping a deaf ear to Honorable Ssegirinya’s health.

It’s to this effect that they have given parliament one week to clear the medical bills or they write to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Martine Okoth Ochola to grant them permission to mobilize the public to fundraise for their area MP.

He has however thanked the Secretariat of the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) for the assistance rendered to them and MP.
