Kapchorwa Wins Tusker Lite Rwenzori Theluji Marathon

The Tusker Lite Rwenzori Theluji Marathon concluded successfully today, showcasing outstanding performances. Mr. Kibweo Vitalis claimed the top spot among male runners in the 42-kilometer category, while Ms. Chemos Viola emerged as the best female in the same division. In the 21-kilometer race, Ms. Ajok Dorcus secured the title for the best female, and Mr. Abel Chibet excelled as the best male, with all of them hailing from Kapchorwa district.

Notably, Mr. Alex Mbwarara Masereka from Mahango sub-county in Kasese district achieved an impressive 18th place in the 42-kilometer run and secured the first position among participants from Kasese. In the same category, Ms. Eve Masika, who resides in Basecamp lower cell in Kasese Municipality, earned the distinction of being the second-best female in Kasese district.

Additionally, two senior three students from Kuruhe high school, Ms. Helen Musoki and Ms. Christine Lukogho, showcased their talent and emerged among the top performers. Mr. Alex Mbwarara expressed his aspiration to participate in another marathon event in Kampala soon, furthering his dream in the sport.

Mr. Erifaz Muhindi, the esteemed leader of Kasese district, successfully completed the five-kilometer race and commended today’s run as a significant boost to his personal health, as well as for the fellow participants in the marathon.

Hon. Winfred Kiiza, the former Member of Parliament for Kasese district and Ugandan leader of the opposition, encouraged the elderly to prepare for next year’s Rwenzori marathon.
