Kasese Residents Excited With USMID Projects

Friday, September 8, 2023

Kasese (UG) | The Black Examiner – Approximately 5.64 kilometers of roads within the town have undergone renovations, accompanied by the installation of street lights, the development of pavements, business access roads, and enhanced drainage systems, among other improvements.

Both residents and local leaders are optimistic that these projects will significantly transform Kasese town, contribute to the effective planning of the drainage system, and subsequently bring about better organization in this rapidly growing urban area.

Obed Nahwera, who operates the Me and You Bar in Nyakasanga ward, shared with the radio that these improved roads have made it easier for their businesses to be accessed by customers who previously avoided the area due to dust and poorly lit spots.

Joachim Kule, who runs a retail shop on Mbogoyabo Road, noted that traders can now keep their businesses open later into the evening, a contrast from three months ago when they had to close by 7:00 pm.

Deputy Mayor Robson Mupango of Kasese Municipality highlighted the positive economic transformation already underway, even before the completion of the projects.

Eng. Owen Oyesigye, one of the supervising consultants, expressed readiness to complete the works ahead of schedule, aiming for delivery before December.
