21st National Games and Sports Championship for Health Training Institutions Set to Kick Off in Kabale
In a grand sporting spectacle, Kabale School of Comprehensive Nursing in Kabale Municipality is gearing up to host the 21st National Games and Sports Championship for Health Training Institutions. The event, scheduled to take place from September 10th to 16th, 2023, is expected to draw a whopping 4,000 participants from 70 institutions across Uganda.
Organized by the Association of Principals of Health Training Institutions of Uganda in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sports, this championship promises fierce competition in various sports disciplines. Participants will showcase their skills in athletics, football, netball, volleyball, basketball, woodball, and more.
Despite limited resources, Kabale School of Comprehensive Nursing has made extensive preparations, including providing accommodation and meals for all participants. The school’s Principal, Josephine Nambiro Kigozi, expressed her commitment to ensuring a smooth experience for attendees.
Security is a top priority for the event. Local authorities, including the District Heads of Security, have confirmed their deployment of ample personnel, considering the current security concerns in the country. The Kabale District Police Commander, Abel Ruganza, reassured the public that comprehensive security measures are in place to ensure a peaceful atmosphere during the championship. Ruganza also encouraged vigilance among attendees to prevent any potential misconduct.
The championship carries the theme “Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases,” emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle and physical activity in health training institutions across Uganda.
