Air India has suspended its flights to and from Tel Aviv until October 14, 2023, due to the recent hostilities in the region. In response to the attack by Hamas militants on Israel and the subsequent conflict, the airline has taken this safety measure.
Approximately 14 airline staff, primarily cabin and cockpit crew members, have returned from Tel Aviv on an Ethiopian flight. An Air India spokesperson stated, “Our flights to and from Tel Aviv will remain suspended till 14th October, 2023, for the safety of our passengers and crew.”
The airline is committed to providing support to passengers with confirmed bookings on any flight during this period. They are closely monitoring the situation and evaluating options for affected passengers.
Air India typically operates five weekly flights to Tel Aviv from the national capital, with services on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Flights to and from Tel Aviv were also canceled on Saturday in response to the ongoing situation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed solidarity with Israel in the wake of the attacks by Hamas militants, condemning them as “terrorist attacks.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the situation as a state of war.
