Why do people put their parents into nursing homes when they could just take them in to their own homes? Especially those who have the space

My precious mother spent her last year of life in a nursing home. Why? Because that’s where she needed to be, to get the appropriate 24 hour per day care she needed for her conditions. She passed away at 88 years old. Initially my mother didn’t want to go to a nursing home, but once I convinced her she would not be dropped off and forgotten about, she was Ok! I promised her I would visit her almost every day, and I did! Sometime 2 or 3 times per day! I wouldn’t stay long. She didn’t need or want me to stay long, she just needed to know she wasn’t forgotten about. The facility she was in was somewhat close to my home, I made sure of that! I could be at her bedside in 7 minutes from home! The nursing home staff was amazing! I made it my business to get to know the staff by name and the other residents as well! I made sure they all knew how to reach me!
I would take snacks sometimes, and would never forget the 2nd shift and the midnight shift! And I always treated the staff with great respect! I think overall nursing homes and staff get a bad rap! As far as I’m concerned they are “essential” workers, and should be treated with great respect! And I thank God for them!
Personally I would like to see a nursing home worker holiday or appreciation day

, to recognize the amazingly tough and thankless Job these incredible people do everyday! I for one want to say to all nursing home workers/employees everywhere…
