Comedian Sam Wenyine Faces Defeat in Bishop Barham University Guild Presidency

Over the weekend, Niwabiine Seth, a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science and Entrepreneurship at Uganda Christian University, Bishop Barham College Kabale, emerged as the winner of the university’s Guild Presidency. Seth secured 320 votes, defeating Nahabwe Samuel, also known as Sam Wenyine, a student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication, who polled 253 votes, earning the position of the first runner-up.

The Chairperson of the University Electoral Commission, Nkundente Disan, announced the winner at Bishop Barham University’s main hall, commending the university’s dean of students and administration for supporting the election preparations. Nkundente also praised the students for their cooperation, excellent discipline, and the significant voter turnout.

The dean of students, Mbalema Apollo, congratulated the newly elected leader, Niwabiine, urging him to collaborate with the university’s management and work with both sides to ensure a successful term in office.

After being declared the winner, Seth Niwabiine expressed his happiness and pledged to advocate for the rights of the students, drawing on his leadership experience. He extended his gratitude to the student body for their support and vowed to fulfill the promises outlined in his manifesto.
