Kampala, Uganda | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Parliamentary Speaker Anita Annet Among has delivered a strong caution to opposition legislators presently abstaining from parliamentary sessions, hinting at the possibility of invoking Parliamentary rules of procedures, which could result in their expulsion.

Despite the warning, the opposition remains resolute, asserting that they have officially communicated the reasons for their absence to the Speaker.

The government has pledged to address opposition demands on November 21, 2023. The persistent absence of opposition MPs from parliamentary sessions has heightened tensions, with the Speaker’s warning indicating a potential escalation in the ongoing standoff between the government and the opposition.
