Kabale District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | In Maziba Sub County, Ndorwa East County of Kabale District, a man, identified as Robert Turyahikayo in his 50s, has tragically taken the life of his wife, Adrine Mugabirwe, in her 40s, before succumbing to self-inflicted poisoning. Both individuals were residents of Mwendo, Nyanja Parish in Maziba Sub County.

The distressing incident unfolded on Friday evening around 6:30 PM, as disclosed by Onesmus Mutungi, the LC3 Chairman for Maziba Sub County. Mutungi reported that following the act of poisoning, the man was found in a nearby bush and sadly passed away while police officers were in the process of transporting him to Maziba Health Center IV for medical assistance.

Mutungi, attributing the tragedy to domestic violence, revealed that the deceased couple had a history of longstanding misunderstandings and had sought help from various authorities for their grievances. Expressing concern over the rising cases of domestic violence in the area, Mutungi urged leaders and stakeholders to collaborate in addressing this alarming trend.
