Johnson Odong, a soldier of the Special Forces Command (SFC) is currently evading authorities after reportedly shooting an individual dead in Kajjansi town council, Wakiso district.

The victim, identified as Omani Lubega, known locally as Fake Material, was a guard at a construction site. The tragic incident unfolded following a dispute between Odong and Lubega at a bar on Tuesday night around 10:30 pm.

Rema Adrat, a bar attendant and eyewitness, recounted that a conflict erupted between the soldier and the victim within the confines of the small bar. Subsequently, Odong left the establishment, returned with a firearm, and opened fire on Lubega and his companions. The result was the death of Lubega and injuries sustained by two others.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, verified the occurrence and told Examiner that Odong is presently on the lam. Authorities are actively pursuing efforts to apprehend him, and he is expected to face charges of murder and attempted murder.

It has been alleged that Odong was assigned to provide security for an undisclosed businessman.
