Two Die of Suspected Poisoning in Kikuube

Police in Kikuube district are investigating circumstances under which two people died of suspected poisoning.

Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region police spokesperson has identified the deceased as Phionah Kemigisha aged 23 years, a resident of Byeya village in Kigoyera parish in Kyenjojo district and Sylvia Barungi, a female juvenile aged 16 years, and resident of Kikonda in Bubogo parish, Kabwoya Sub County in Kikuube district.

Hakiza says police preliminary investigations indicate that on Thursday at around 4pm, one pastor Brain heard his neighbor one Kemigisha now deceased scrambling and making noise in her rented room.

Hakiza says the pastor went and informed the landlord one Ziribaberi Byaruhanga but the two failed to open the door and went to call the area LC1 who broke the door and found the two dead.

He two bodies were taken to Kikuube health center IV pending postmortem.
