NCBA Bank remains steadfast in its commitment to bolstering golf in Uganda. The bank has declared its sponsorship of the NCBA Junior Golf series with a generous package amounting to 80 million Uganda shillings. This event is scheduled to unfold from the 29th of March to the 1st of April in Kampala.

The prestigious Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa will serve as the venue for this year’s championship, conducted in collaboration with US Kids Golf. This partnership is aligned with the objective of nurturing the next generation of African golfers.

Following the format of the US Kids Golf World Championship, the tournament will feature juniors playing at varying yardages based on their age groups. It also serves as a qualifying platform for juniors to represent their nations at global affiliate events.

The tournament, conceptualized to prepare the youth for future competitions in Uganda, the broader region, and globally, resonates with NCBA’s guiding principle of “Go For It!” according to Muyobo.

He emphasized that the event aligns with NCBA’s belief in the unique ability of golf to cultivate integrity, friendship, discipline, and self-esteem within African communities.

Anticipated to attract over 200 junior golfers from more than a dozen nationalities, the competition’s standout performers will earn coveted spots in the Rome Classic in Italy and the Big Five South Africa Tournament.

Beyond the competitive aspect, the event provides a valuable opportunity for children to learn the rules and etiquette of golf, contributing to the enhancement of their social, psychological, and physical attributes.
