The renovated classroom block at Kagadi Modal Primary School in Kagadi Town Council was officially inaugurated by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kagadi, Lillian Ruteraho.

Funded under the Uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfers Program-UGIFT, the rehabilitation project cost 160 million shillings.

During the commissioning ceremony, Lillian Ruteraho urged parents to take an active role in their children’s education, emphasizing that the responsibility should not solely rest on the government. She encouraged parents to contribute modest amounts to supplement Universal Primary Education (UPE) grants, thereby enhancing performance in government schools.

Vincent Ssemuga, the vice chairperson of Kagadi district LC5, who also attended the commissioning event, echoed the call for parents to enroll their children in affordable government schools.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel Abigaba, the head teacher of Kagadi Modal Primary School, expressed gratitude to the government for renovating the school structures. He expressed optimism that the improved learning environment would positively impact the school’s performance.
