President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, this afternoon for a State visit, following an invitation from President William Ruto.

The purpose of President Museveni’s visit is to bolster the longstanding bilateral relations between Uganda and Kenya while seeking new avenues for collaboration and mutual benefit.

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, President Museveni was greeted by a delegation from the Kenyan government led by Hon. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs. On the Ugandan side, he received a warm welcome from Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of East African Community Affairs, among other dignitaries.

The visit underscores the commitment of both leaders to promote regional integration, bolster economic cooperation, and enhance stability within the East African region.

Throughout his stay, President Museveni will partake in high-level discussions with President Ruto and other Kenyan government officials. These discussions will encompass a wide array of topics, including trade and investment, infrastructure development, security cooperation, and regional integration.

The visit is anticipated to fortify economic ties between Uganda and Kenya, with a specific emphasis on dismantling trade barriers and cultivating a conducive business environment. The leaders will explore avenues for heightened investment and collaboration, with the aim of unlocking the full potential of the East African region.
