NAIROBI, KENYA (Examiner) – Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni touched down in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, on Wednesday, commencing a three-day state visit. Welcomed by Kenyan Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi, Museveni is set to engage in extensive bilateral discussions with Kenyan President William Ruto on Thursday.

This visit comes in the wake of the recently concluded second session of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) between Kenya and Uganda, which saw the signing of seven memoranda of understanding (MoU). These agreements span various domains including public service management, education, SME development, sports, youth affairs, as well as trade and investment.

Amidst the backdrop of these developments, both nations are poised to reinforce their commitment to swiftly implement decisions taken during the JMC sessions and other bilateral engagements. This resolve underscores a shared vision for enhancing cooperation and fostering mutual prosperity between Kenya and Uganda, as affirmed by the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.
