Hon. Chris Baryomunsi, Minister of ICT and National Guidance, underscored the imperative of integrating technology to propel socioeconomic advancement. He emphasized ICT’s potential to enhance productivity, streamline governmental processes, bolster business competitiveness, and fortify institutional effectiveness.

Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of ITU, lauded African nations, including Uganda, for steering their digital destinies. She commended landmark initiatives like the Continental Artificial Intelligence Strategy and African Digital Compact, illustrating the region’s steadfast commitment to digital transformation.

Hon. George William Nyombi Thembo, Executive Director of UCC, emphasized the critical role of affordable smart devices in bridging the digital divide. He stressed that internet access is no longer a luxury but a prerequisite for education, healthcare, financial inclusivity, and societal progress.

Vice President Jessica Alupo, speaking on behalf of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, commended ITU’s role in convening regulators, policymakers, and industry leaders to foster idea exchange and champion best practices.
