President Museveni has engaged in high-level discussions with a delegation of Israeli businessmen led by Israel Green and Koby Shushan. The primary focus was on combating malaria in Uganda using Artificial Intelligence through Malera Technologies Limited. This advanced technology, which has already seen success in Israel and the USA, involves the industrial Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) and has received approval from the Ugandan Ministry of Health. Discussions centered on the project’s budget and timeline, with President Museveni endorsing the initiative and directing immediate partial funding from the current governmental budget. The main funding will come from the Government of Israel’s support program.
Communication Satellite Project
In a subsequent meeting, Greenlight Business Ventures LLC proposed the construction, launch, and operation of a 12 Gbps Ka-Band state-of-the-art communication satellite. This satellite aims to connect rural areas to the global information superhighway, supporting healthcare, education, agriculture, and more. Managed by Ugandan experts trained under a new Space Education Program and Academy, this initiative will complement existing fiber optics and other infrastructure projects. President Museveni emphasized its importance and directed relevant ministries to expedite its promotion.
Tourism Development
World Solution Vision LLC also discussed with President Museveni recent engagements with the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities about developing the Ruwenzori Mountains National Park Cable Car. This project aims to enhance Uganda’s tourism offerings and provide significant benefits to the local community, including job creation, income generation, and economic boosting. The president welcomed this initiative and urged the transformation of these directions into a tangible project plan with high priority.
