The Rwenzururu Premier, Rt. Hon. Joseph Muranga Kule has commended Church of Uganda for her stand against her Western counterparts on matters of Homosexuality.
In his speech while closing a stakeholders’ meeting held at Kasese Youth Polytechnic in Kasese district, Rt. Hon. Muranga said he was still shocked to see that the western world which vastly preached against polygamy had turned back to support what he described as a dirty act of sin.
Rt. Hon. Muranga said Homosexuality was a disgrace, regrettable, un cultured and an act of disobedience before God that should be preached against by all.
He asked the Banya Rwenzururu not to be tempted by threats and money but stick to the known Biblical and good cultural norms that can ably guide society.
The retired secondary school head teacher and former RDC insisted that Uganda should not always dance just because the West has drummed should the dance injure the will of God and the African cultural norms.
Retired Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, Rt. Rev Jackson Nzerebende Thembo partly blames the increasing cases of domestic Violence to Human rights guidelines that places husband and wife at the same levels, contrary to the African cultural set up that puts man at the top of the family.
To deal with this the Bishop said, some married couples were struggling, thereby, causing friction which to him, is easy to neutralize should married people learn to appreciate what their spouses are.
The stakeholders’ engagement meeting was organized by Adventist Development and Relief association.
