Former Member of Parliament for Kasese Municipality, Hon. Robert Centenary, has dismissed as mere speculation the claim that the Forum for Democratic Party (FDC) received funding from the ruling NRM party to support their 2021 political campaign. Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio after a press conference held at the FDC party headquarters in Najanankumbi, Kampala, Hon. Centenary stated that the FDC leadership had presented evidence countering the allegation made by Hon. Ibrahim Semujju Nganda, the Legislator representing Kiira Municipality, and his group. He urged Semujju and his associates to present their evidence to substantiate their claims.

Hon. Centenary played down the significance of the recent press conference led by Semujju at Nsambya hall, calling for calm among the members of the Forum for Democratic Change. He emphasized that as the party prepares for upcoming elections, the focus should be on redirecting their membership and leadership without getting distracted by unfounded rumors.

As the current tentative FDC Spokesperson, Hon. Centenary reassured party members that the current leadership is not inclined to accept bribes to undermine the party, as alleged by some party leaders led by Hon. Semujju.

He concluded by urging party members to remain vigilant and mindful of party leaders who may not adhere to the party’s guidelines and principles.
