Police of Kagadi district are hunting for 25-year-old Julius Habumuremyi, a resident of Nyatosi parish in Kyaterekera town council for allegedly killing his father.

The deceased has been identified as Matayo Kaaza, aged 45 years and resident of Mabale A village in Kisugo parish, Nyakarongo Sub County.

Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, says on February 2, 2024, the deceased and the son engaged in a fist fight over unknown reasons in Kyomukama trading center but were separated by locals.

Hakiza adds that the deceased went home but on his way, he was waylaid by his son who hit him with a brick on the head killing him instantly.

He says police preliminary investigations indicate that the duo have been engaged in a feud over land.

Hakiza adds that the police is hunting for Habumuremyi who took off immediately after the incident.
