Police in Kibaale District are investigating a robbery resulting in the shooting of a man named Sarapio Kabaterina, aged 39.

Julius Allan Hakiza, who is the police spokesperson for the Albertine region, revealed that the unfortunate incident occurred on Sunday night around 9:30 pm.

According to Hakiza, Kabaterina was with his family at home when someone knocked on their door. Upon opening the door, he was confronted by an armed man who discharged his firearm, hitting Kabaterina in the waist.

The perpetrator made away with an estimated two million Ugandan shillings, leaving the victim needing medical attention. Kabaterina was immediately taken to Immaculate Clinic where he received first aid before being transferred to Mubende Hospital for further treatment.

Hakiza advised residents to exercise caution when opening their doors, considering the increasing rate of thefts and the cunning methods employed by robbers these days.
