RUKIGA, (Examiner) – Kabale Regional Referral Hospital is currently holding the body of an unidentified male who was lynched by a mob in Rukiga District. According to police reports, the incident occurred at approximately 12:01 AM on Thursday when the deceased, armed with a panga, attempted to steal a goat from Niwamanya Benjamin’s home. Local residents intervened upon noticing the theft, leading to a fatal confrontation.

Elly Maate, spokesperson for Kigezi Regional Police, confirmed that upon notification, police visited and secured the scene. The body was subsequently transferred to Kabale Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination. Items recovered at the scene included the stolen goat, a panga, and three sticks of Super Sport cigarettes. The deceased was described as wearing a black jacket, black trousers, and open shoes.

Maate urged relatives of missing persons to visit the hospital mortuary for identification and arrangements for a proper burial.
