Shock as a 44-year old Kakumiro woman commits suicide

Police in Mwitanzige is investigating a circumstance under which a 44 year old Bagombeka Melod committed suicide by hanging herself in a mango tree in Mwitanzige LC I, Kakumiro District western Uganda  who has been a resident of Karokararungi, a Mwitanzige suburb

She was discovered hanging at someone else’s home (name withheld) , where she had paid a visit and with whom she had known while still living as neighbors in Kyenjojo.

“When we reached her rental house found in Karokarungi,  we found her luggage tired together”  Twesigye Silverio, chairperson LC II said during press

Her neighbors allege that she often used tobacco, marijuana, and drank alcohol, all of which they believe may have greatly contributed to the issues she already faced.

The medical report that The Black Examiner looked at also indicated that no signs of physical assault were seen on her body.
According to reports, she is a born of Kyenjojo District, but at the time of the press, no relative was present at the location.


Citizens were urged by the CID Mwitanzige Police Post to constantly speak up if they face a problem so that their addresses and backgrounds could be easily traced

A postmortem was done, and body was handed over to the community for burial.
