Witch Doctor Among Two Arrested Over Murder of Children in Kiboga

  • Two suspects, including a witch doctor, have been arrested in connection with the murders of two children in Kiboga district, Uganda.

Wamala region police spokesperson, SP Racheal Kawala, has confirmed that two suspects linked to the double murders of sibling children in Kasega parish, Kapeke sub-county, Kiboga district on April 4, 2024, have been apprehended by police’s crime intelligence operatives.

SP Kawala identified the suspects as Sulaiman Sentongo, 32, from Kirinda village, Kasega parish, Kapeke sub-county in Kiboga district, and Namuleme Maureen, 41, from Kisingiri cell, Namiremebe Bakuli ward, Rubaga division, Kampala.

“Operatives located Sentongo, a witch doctor, via phone and arrested him in Kireka, Kampala, on the night of April 5, 2024. Maureen, his associate who allegedly aided his escape on April 4, 2024, was also apprehended,” SP Kawala stated.

The suspects are currently held for interrogation at Kiboga CPS, bringing the total arrests to three. Initial investigations indicate that on April 3, 2024, at 10:00 PM, two children, Nantongo Sylvia (5 years old) and Nakasumba Esther (2 years old), were reported missing.

“Regrettably, their bodies were found on April 4, 2024, in Kirinda village, leading investigators to Sentongo’s residence. Further updates will be provided as the investigation unfolds,” SP Kawala told Examiner.
