Kasese District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Mr. Clarence Bwambale Mumbahya, the Senior Hospital Administrator of Bwera Hospital in Kasese district, has appealed to the Central Government to expedite the compensation process for the family of the late Mr. Peter Baluku. Mr. Baluku, an emergency nurse who was posthumously honored by the Association of Ambulance Professionals-Uganda, tragically lost his life in an ambulance accident while accompanying a patient to Mulago National Referral Hospital.

The ambulance, in which Mr. Peter was transporting the patient, was engulfed in flames on May 11th, 2022, along the Kasese-Fort-Portal highway. Mr. Clarence, in his report to the State Minister for National Guidance, Hon. Godfrey Kabyanga, who was present to hand over a new ambulance, called for the honorable minister’s intervention in addressing compensation matters and addressing delayed promotions affecting medical staff, leading to demoralization among them.

In response, Hon. Kabyanga requested the hospital administration to submit two separate letters—one detailing compensation concerns and another addressing the need for free Wi-Fi internet in the hospital. He expressed his willingness to intervene once these letters were received.
