Kabale District Council Approves 400M to Rehabilitate Maziba Health Centre IV

Kabale, Uganda | THE BLACK EXAMINER | On Tuesday, the Kabale District Council unanimously greenlit a supplementary budget of 400 million shillings earmarked for essential infrastructure rehabilitation at Maziba Health Centre IV in Maziiba Sub County of Ndorwa East County.

The motion to approve this supplementary budget was initiated by Hillary Byamukama, the Secretary for Health, Education, Sports, and Community-based Services, and was subsequently endorsed by the council.

Byamukama emphasized that the allocation of funds adheres to the guidelines outlined in Regulation 25, Sub-regulation (1), which pertains to supplementary estimates intended to enhance recurrent expenditures or capital development projects. Essentially, it involves increasing the total approved estimated expenditure for the fiscal year.

Additionally, Sub-regulation (3) of the same framework underscores the significance of obtaining council approval for supplementary estimates, especially those falling under Sub-regulation (5)1.

With authority derived from the Local Government Act Section 7-(6), the Kabale District Council also passed a motion to merge certain villages from Bukora and Mwendo parishes into Bwama parish to enhance service delivery. This annexation motion was introduced by Medius Katushabe, a female council member from Kitumba Sub County.
