NDA Shuts 152 Drug Outlets in South Western Uganda

The National Drug Authority (NDA) has concluded its five days enforcement operation in South Western Uganda, closing at least 152 illegal drug outlets.

Abiaz Rwamwiri, the NDA Spokesperson says that the operation left about 340 boxes of assorted medicines worth over 85mshs impounded in the nine districts of Kasese, Rwampara, Mbarara, Ibanda, Kiruhura, Kamwenge, Kitagwenda and Ntungambo and Mbarara City.

He says that some drug shops which were closed during the operation were found operating with unqualified personnel and some owners of these facilities were arrested.

Rwamwiri further says that they found St Francis Drug Shop in Rutoki, Mitooma and Glorious Drug Shop of Glorious Tumuhimbise in Kagamba, Ntungamo selling an authorized drugs government labelled not for sale.
