Patient dies over neglect of Health workers on duty

Kasese District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Kasese district leader, Mr. Erifaz Muhindi, has urged the police to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a 30-year-old man at Rukoki Health Centre IV, citing allegations of health workers’ neglect of duty.

Addressing upset residents at the facility this morning, Mr. Muhindi expressed concerns about poor patient management, claiming that at least two patients have reportedly died due to this issue. The deceased has been identified as Amos Kule, a resident of Katerera Sub County in Rubirizi district.

Kasese Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Joy Muhindo, encouraged caretakers to report health workers who demand money from patients to her office for necessary action.

Ms. Scovia Muhindo, a caretaker for the deceased, claimed that her brother passed away due to lack of attention from the health worker on duty.

Some attendants who spoke to our reporter this morning also complained about the lack of hospitality provided to customers. At the time of reporting, one of the health workers had been taken to the police to provide a statement.
