Allan Ssewanyana Enlists Top MC Meddie Nsereko Ssebulimba for Wedding Amid Legal Concerns

Reliable sources within the confines of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s CBS radio have officially confirmed to this publication that the embattled Makindye West legislator, Allan Ssewanyana, has made a move to enlist the services of the highly experienced master of ceremonies, Meddie Nsereko Ssebulimba, to oversee his upcoming wedding celebration.

Nsereko is renowned as one of the foremost Masters of Ceremony in Buganda, despite the significant cost associated with securing his services due to his widespread popularity.

According to an insider, Ssewanyana wasted no time in securing Nsereko’s services, eager to ensure that his wedding guests would be treated to a memorable experience.

This insider revealed that Ssewanyana’s wife, Lydia Namatta, had been exerting pressure on him to formalize their marriage.

In response to his wife’s insistence, it has come to our attention that Ssewanyana plans to hold the introduction ceremony next month, followed by the wedding later this year.

Sources in Ssewanyana’s circle who are actively involved in the wedding preparations in Mangereza, Makindye West, have disclosed that the dashing legislator decided to legalize their marriage as a gesture of gratitude to Namatta for her unwavering support during his nearly two-year incarceration on charges of murder, attempted murder, and terrorism.

Insiders claim that Namatta has been a steadfast partner since their days at Makerere University. She stood by him from his successful career as a sports journalist at Top Radio to his entry into politics.

Nevertheless, there are concerns among Ssewanyana’s family and friends that his legal troubles are far from over, and he may face a life sentence due to the ongoing criminal charges at the Crimes War Division of the High Court.

Alice Komuhangi, the resident judge overseeing the pre-hearing proceedings, permitted Ssewanyana’s legal team, led by Sam Muyizzi, to file a petition with the Constitutional Court challenging their trial. However, she declined their request to halt the ongoing proceedings.

The state, represented by the formidable criminal law expert Lino Anguzu from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), is confident that they possess ample evidence to persuade the three judges presiding over Ssewanyana’s case to convict him and impose a life sentence.

Ssewanyana is facing charges alongside Kawempe North legislator Muhammad Ssegirinya and others for their alleged involvement in the brutal murder of elderly individuals in greater Masaka in 2021.
