Katikkiro Asks Religious Leaders To Preach Traditional Culture

Kampala, Uganda | THE BLACK EXAMINER | On Wednesday, during a meeting at Bulange Mengo, Owek Charles Peter Mayiga, the Prime Minister of the Buganda Kingdom, called upon religious leaders from across the country to prioritize culture and instill values in the younger generation for the betterment of the nation. The occasion marked a gathering with the leadership of the Adventist Church in Uganda, during which the church presented a donation of Shs10 million to support the Kingdom’s activities, specifically in a program referred to as Oluwalo lwo.

Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikkiro of Buganda, emphasized the importance of religious leaders promoting cultural values that align with their faith while guiding young individuals to distinguish between right and wrong. He expressed concern that a significant portion of the younger generation lacks awareness of their traditional culture and called for collaboration between leaders from various sectors, including religious leaders, to revive and preserve Ugandan culture, setting an example for the world.

Following the meeting, Archbishop Pr. Dr. Moses Maka Ndimukika and Katikkiro Mayiga addressed the media. Mayiga lauded the Adventist Church for its contributions to education, healthcare, and the cultivation of humanitarian values among the youth in the country. He encouraged other religious denominations to draw inspiration from their work.
