Mubende District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Police in Mubende district have arrested a suspect in connection with a murder in which Provence Kafuruki, 50, was cut and killed at Kalo Kalungi village in Lubimbiri sub-county.
Wamala Police region spokesperson Racheal Kawala yesterday identified the suspect as Joselyn Nahwera, 30, a peasant and resident of the same area.
Kawala said that the deceased had suspicions about Nahwera’s romantic involvement with her friend, Julius Kashari. The deceased armed herself with a machete and confronted the suspect at her residence.
The suspect also armed herself with a machete, resulting in a violent altercation that led to the deceased sustaining deep cuts on her hand, palm and neck. Tragically, the deceased succumbed to her injuries and bled to death at the doorstep of the suspect.
She added that the suspect was assaulted by angry residents, but was rescued by the Police and is currently undergoing medical treatment at a clinic in Lubimbiri Trading Centre.
