Canter Lorry Accident Claims One Life and Injures 15 in Kakumiro

Kakumiro District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | At approximately 1920hrs, a canter lorry, bearing registration number UBA 598D and carrying around 30 individuals, overturned and rolled several times yesterday at Kakindo SDA Church in Kakumiro District, killing one on the spot and causing life-threatening injuries to 15 others.

The occupants of the canter were returning from Igayaza, where they had attended a burial in Kabwooya, Kikuube District. The deceased, identified as Ruharaza, lost their life on the spot during the unfortunate accident.

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the cause of the accident was attributed to the driver losing control on the slope of Kakindo SDA Church. The canter tipper’s overturning led to the tragic outcome.

Promptly responding to the incident, the police arrived at the scene to rescue and initiate investigations to establish the exact cause of the accident. The injured victims were promptly admitted to Kakindo HCIV for urgent medical attention and treatment.
