Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Mbadi, Urges Cadets to Embrace Training for Enhanced Military Proficiency

Mubende District | The Black  Examiner – The Chief of Defence Forces of Uganda, General Wilson Mbadi, has issued a compelling call today to Officer Cadets, urging them to actively embrace and make themselves available for progressive training. This, he stated, is a pivotal approach towards achieving a higher level of proficiency within the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces.

General Mbadi’s remarks were delivered at the Uganda Military Academy, Kabamba, during the conclusion of the final field training exercise known as “Uongonzi Bora.” This comprehensive exercise seamlessly integrated Intake 02 of the 3-year Cadet Program and Intake 06 of the Professional Cadets.

In his address, the CDF extended commendation to the trainees for their exemplary demonstrations, emphasizing, “I found great satisfaction and was thoroughly impressed by your performance, particularly during the briefing. My gratitude. Now, I implore you to implement the teachings you have received here when you enter the field, as this will undoubtedly grant you an advantage over your adversaries.”

Gen Mbadi further emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and staying physically fit in order to ensure longevity and effective service within the forces.

The Commandant of the Uganda Military Academy, Colonel Wycliff Keita, lauded the trainees for consistently displaying remarkable discipline throughout both the field exercise and the entire course, urging them to uphold this standard.

Colonel Tumuranzye, the Chief Instructor of Academics at the Uganda Military Academy, articulated that the culminating exercise aimed to evaluate trainees’ teamwork, proactive spirit, and physical prowess. It also aimed to familiarize them with the coordinated elements of combined arms operations, provide practical experience in command and control, and enhance their responsiveness to combat challenges.
