Following the weeks-long protests and verbal exchange of words between the opposition and the government, the deputy president, Gachagua, has come out and said that the president, William Ruto, had approached early Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoke after the general election to join them in the Kenya Kwanza Party.
However, Kalonzo instead turned down the offer and told the president to wait for the Supreme Court’s ruling on the election petition.
Further, DP. Gachagua revealed that, after the ruling of the Supreme Court, the wiper party leader, Kalonzo, approached them, noting that he wanted to join them, which they in turn rejected.
“Do you know that even after we won the election, Ruto approached him to join our side, and he said no? He said he should wait for the Supreme Court to make its decision. After they were defeated in the Supreme Court, he came back, and we told him he was late.”
The DP further went on to advise Kalonzo to talk to Raila about stopping demonstrations, noting that they very well know that they were defeated.
