Mr. Ssekandi, a former Speaker of Parliament, shared this heartbreaking news on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday. He expressed his deep sorrow, saying, “I regret to announce the sudden passing of my son, Alex Kayanja Ssekandi. Alex passed away yesterday at Lubaga Hospital, where he had been receiving medical care for the past two weeks. This is an incredibly challenging time for me and my family. Rest in Peace, my beloved son; I can’t believe you are no longer with us.”

Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, on the loss of his son, Alex Kayanja Ssekandi.
