Rubirizi District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Over the weekend, Police and authorities in Rubirizi District arrested four individuals who serve as leaders within the Muyenga Ward Sacco, located in Katerera Town Council. They have been detained in connection with the alleged misappropriation of funds designated for Parish Development Modal.

Bron Kikanshemeza, the Rubirizi District RDC, disclosed that the accused individuals are facing allegations of manipulating the membership records by enrolling individuals from neighboring parishes. It is alleged that they did this in order to distribute the funds among themselves, resulting in the disappearance of three million shillings.

Kikanshemeza further told The Black Examiner that the district security team discovered discrepancies in the utilization of the funds. Reportedly, Muyenga ward Sacco received a total of 108 million shillings, yet only seventy beneficiaries were accounted for. An ongoing police investigation aims to uncover the truth and ensure accurate documentation of the events.

Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for the greater Bushenyi police, identified the individuals under suspicion as Coleb Katungi, Godfrey Asiimwe, John Bikangango, and Godfrey Twesigye.
