Four individuals have been charged with the murder of Godwin Kansiime, the director of Victoria Secondary School. The accused, namely Shakirah Natukunda (23), Moses Ssenyonjo (55), Samuel Ssekajja, and Wilber Katende, stand accused of committing this crime on September 2, 2023.

Appearing before Nansana Grade One Magistrate Ms. Irene Nambatya on Friday, the prosecution informed her that several other suspects remain at large. Given the capital nature of the case, Magistrate Nambatya ruled that her court lacked the jurisdiction to hear it. Consequently, she remanded the suspects to Luzira Prison until September 26, when they will return to court for further proceedings. She advised the suspects to seek any plea through the High Court.

The alleged murder of Mr. Kansiime took place at Nansana Inn, after which his body was transported and dumped near Nansomba Village in Masulita Sub County, Wakiso District, on the night of September 2.

Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that Natukunda was captured on a private CCTV camera at 6:15 am on September 2, together with Kansiime, before they both rode a motorcycle taxi (boda boda). Natukunda was subsequently arrested on Salaama Road, Makindye Division, Kampala City, on suspicion of poisoning Kansiime.
