Hoima One Stop Service Centre Launched in Uganda

The eagerly awaited launch of the Hoima One Stop Service Centre in Uganda took place yesterday at the Hoima district headquarters in Kasingo. The centre, a collaborative effort of several ministries including Ministry of Public Service, Internal Affairs, and the Trade Ministry, among others, aims to provide quality services to the local communities.

During the inauguration, the Chairperson of LC1 Kasingo Cell, the area hosting the Centre, emphasized the importance of delivering excellent services. She urged the officials to prioritize working from the Centre and to reduce their reliance on English when assisting the locals.

Distinguished guests from both Uganda and abroad graced the occasion, including Miss. Catherine Bitarakwate, the Permanent Secretary Ministry For Public Service, who revealed that the Hoima Regional Service Centre is designed to cater to the specific needs of local communities at a reduced cost.

In an exciting development, Hon Ulvi Mehdiyev, the Chairperson of the State Agency of Public Service & Social Innovations under the Office of the President of Azerbaijan, arrived at the district headquarters and was warmly welcomed by Hon Grace Mary Mugasa, the State Minister for Ministry of Public Service

Hon Ulvi Mehdiyev shared his optimism about the Hoima One Stop Service Centre, expressing his belief that it will revolutionize the relationship between citizens and state institutions.

In a speech, the Chief Guest, Hon Muruli Mukasa, the Minister for Public Service, revealed that the concept of a one-stop service centre for Uganda was conceived in 2018. However, its implementation was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. He praised the choice of Hoima for this centre due to its strategic economic significance.

Minister Muruli Mukasa called upon all stakeholders to ensure that the Hoima One Stop Service Uganda Centre lives up to its name by offering quick, accurate, and transparent services to the Bunyoro Kitara communities.

As the launch ceremony continued, attendees were treated to a captivating Runyege dance performance, adding to the festive atmosphere.

This landmark development is expected to streamline public services and provide efficient solutions for the citizens of Hoima and beyond. Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking initiative.
