Peace Amooti Kabasweka secured her first Johnnie Walker Uganda Ladies Open golf title with a strong finish, maintaining her composure and clinching victory on the final three holes. She emerged as the winner, delighting fans at the Uganda Golf Club in Kitante. Her consistent play on the 16th, 17th, and 18th holes, including three consecutive pars, sealed the victory, while a late bogey cost Madina Hussein the title.
Kabasweka expressed her excitement, stating, “I am over the moon.” She had been pursuing this title for four years and nearly gave up but found the determination to succeed.
Kabasweka had established a significant lead on the first day, capitalizing on favorable putting conditions. The tournament featured lady golfers from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi, Sweden, and China.
