Tuesday, October 17, 2023

Kampala, Uganda | THE BLACK EXAMINER | A retired police officer at the rank of Assistant Inspector of Police has been electrocuted to death.

This was revealed by ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police today 17th October 2023.

Owoyesigyire says retired AIP Olanya Christopher lost his life at Ntinda Police Barracks yesterday 16th October 2023 while trying to save his two children from an electric shock.

“Olanya, who had been preparing to move to Gulu, was tragically electrocuted while attempting to rescue his daughter and son, who had been shocked by an electrical malfunction,” Owoyesigyire says.

He says Olanya was electrocuted because he was barefoot at the time, which left him vulnerable to the deadly electric shock.

Olanya’s body was promptly conveyed to City Mortuary Mulago for a post-mortem examination as investigations into the incident continue.
