Kamuli District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | A 45-year-old man Identified as Julius Bagoole has been sent to prison following a horrifying occurrence in Kamuli, Uganda, on suspicion of aggravated defilement and aggravated trafficking in children.

Bagoole, a Kamuli municipality resident, was charged when he appeared before the Kamuli Chief Magistrates Court. His remand at the Kamuli District Government Prison was subsequently ordered by Chief Magistrate Hope Namisi.

Allegations that Bagoole defiled his own daughters are at the centre of the claims against him. According to Michael Kasadha, a spokesman for the Busoga North Police, Bagoole allegedly committed these crimes while professing to be cleaning and shielding the victims from evil or bad spirits.

“According to our investigations,” Kasadha said, “he would alternate the victims in sexual abuse at different intervals, purporting to be cleansing and protecting them from bad or evil spirits.”

One of the victims opted to confide in a friend, who immediately informed her parents of the worrying situation. Due to this information, the incident was reported to Kamuli Central Police Station, which ultimately led to Bagoole’s arrest.

The accused is currently charged with two counts of aggravated child trafficking and three counts of aggravated defilement. A conviction for serious defilement carries a maximum sentence of the execution under Ugandan law.
