Man Stabs Ex-Girlfriend to Death Over Stolen Underwear

Luwero District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | A man stabbed his ex-lover to death, accusing her of stealing his pants following their breakup. The incident occurred on Friday in Kasala village, Kasala parish, Makulubita sub-county, Luwero district. The victim, Jane Kyoshabire, 26 years old, originally from Rwendahi village, Kayenje parish, Ntungamo district, was identified by the police. The assailant, yet to be identified, was previously married to the victim’s sister and had lived in Bukekele village before their separation.

Allegedly, the man had invited the victim, his sister-in-law, with promises of a job. However, upon her arrival from Ntungamo district, he informed her that the employer no longer wanted people of Banyankole descent for the job. Despite this, they developed a romantic relationship. On October 8, the victim secured a maid job at Dorothy Nalubwama’s home, but the suspect continued to follow her, claiming that she had taken his underwear.

The issue was reportedly resolved amicably on October 12, with the involvement of the Kasala village LC 1 chairperson, and the suspect pledged not to stalk her again. Nevertheless, on Friday around 4 pm, the suspect visited the victim’s workplace, claiming he couldn’t sleep and wanted her back. A scuffle broke out, during which the suspect stabbed her twice in the stomach with a knife and fled the scene.

Police responded to the incident, registering a case of murder by stabbing in Luwero, gathering statements from witnesses, and sending the victim’s body to Mulago city mortuary for a postmortem examination. During their presence at the scene, police encouraged the community to avoid taking the law into their own hands and instead report matters to the appropriate authorities.”
