She emphasized that waiting for a cure can entail unnecessary health hazards, and urged the people of Mitooma to take charge of their health through preventive practices.

Dr. Acheng’s compelling message was conveyed yesterday during a significant event held to mark the initiation of the upgrade of Mitooma Health Center IV, which is poised to be elevated to the status of a general hospital. The Minister’s speech was conveyed by the Director of Curative Services, Dr. Olaro Charles, on her behalf.

Highlighting the paramount significance of preventive measures, Dr. Acheng underscored that a well-informed populace could play a pivotal role in curbing the escalating prevalence of diseases. She asserted that understanding the value of preventive actions is instrumental in safeguarding public health, thereby reducing the burden on the healthcare system.

Adding to the chorus of encouragement, Maj Gen Kahinda Otafiire, the Minister of Internal Affairs, emphasized the multifaceted benefits that such advancements in healthcare infrastructure could bring to the people of Mitooma. He urged the community to seize the opportunities presented by this upgrade, particularly in terms of creating a conducive market for local products and fostering economic growth.
